10.25.08: Mountain Makins 8k
Even though Rose Center's Mountain Makins festival has been going on for many years, this is the first time a race has kicked off the event. Not bad at all for a first time race, given that Morristown races don't usually attract a large number of people from the Knoxville or Tri-Cities metro areas, and the weather (cold & wet). Greg Spain, assisted by John Smyth, did a great job as director and the hand-carved winning trophies, made by Ken Manning & daughter Renee Miller were a very nice touch.
A very unusual finish, in that two of the top three were women. Douglas Graves took the overall #1, with Kelsey Armstrong #2 & Andee Cranford #3. On the team front, there weren't but one or two competing, and EBS was the winner.
