03.22.09: Belly of the Beast Trail Run

The kickoff to the 2009 edition of the Treadin' Trodden Trails series, this is the first Belly of the Beast run I've gotten to shoot in three tries. While the forecast called for upper 60's, it was probably closer to 70-75º and with no shade at the finish area, made for a very hot day. In spite of the hotter-then-expected weather, the low turnout (46 runners) and a wrong turn that led to the runners running the Beast backwards, it was still a great race and everyone there seemed to be having a wonderful time.

Kevin Carraher was the men's winner and Sarah Sterling was the top female finisher. There were no teams. No awards per se either, the only thing awarded was TTT series or maybe Mayor's Cup points.
