09.26.09: Big South Fork 17.5-Mile Trail Race
This was a really fun race. Running 17.5 miles under any circumstances is a challenge; add rain and it becomes more difficult (some creeks were waist-deep, this was also the first year no one managed to crack 2 hours), but for the young-at-heart it also added a fun "let's play in the rain" element, which made it a lot of fun, whether running or watching (at least when there's cover for the photographer, as there was for this race), and most seemed to be having a blast.
Luke Bollschweiler was the first across the line, with Jamie Cook second & Brad Higdon in third. For the second year in a row Tracy Brooks claimed the women's title. Sara Maltby & Sally Brooking rounded out the top three.
